The Dollar Brothers
The Dollar Brothers
The Dollar Brothers provide a high-energy, family-oriented bluegrass stage show. They are a traditional bluegrass band from Watauga and Ashe County, North Carolina. Darrell Dollar, lead singer and older brother to Barry and Wade, plays mandolin and has written some songs for the band. Barry Dollar plays fiddle and banjo and sings lead and baritone, he is the second of the three brothers. Wade Dollar, the youngest of the three brothers, plays guitar, sings tenor and lead and also plays claw hammer banjo and dobro. Tim Norris, banjo player, is a cousin to the Dollar Brothers. Tim also sings, plays guitar and the piano. Our bass player, J.M. Trivette is from Zionville. He plays bass and sings. The Dollar Brothers have shared the stage with such luminaries as Bill Monroe, Jim and Jesse, The Seldom Scene, Doyle Lawson, The Osborne Brothers and others. The Dollar Brothers love doing the standards as well as doing some of their own compositions on stage. Gospel Music is also a very large part of the Dollar Brothers. They've been in bluegrass for over twenty five years, they really enjoy what they do, and what they're able to share with others.
Never Too Late Band
Never Too Late Band
Never Too Late is a seasoned bluegrass band with decades of music experience. Formed in 2001, we have produced two CDs and were invited to perform a one hour TV show on a Winston Salem PBS station. The band consists of Kent Huffman on upright bass, David Dickerson on mandolin, Brent Fain on guitar and Bruce Hill on banjo. Expert instrumentation and tight vocal harmonies have become our trademark.
Jerry, Mike & Bill
Jerry, Mike & Billbwygand@gmail.com
Bill Wygand never expected that he and a couple of high school band buddies would be playing music in the NC mountains after putting his old Charlotte Catholic High School band back together for his 50th anniversary class reunion. Jerry Herbert and Mike Evans had so much fun with the reunion band that they decided to keep playing together with Bill, leaving the remainder of the band behind to play checkers in retirement. The thing the guys most have in common is their love of music and the fun they have playing it. Bill got his first drum set when he was nine. He resides nearby in Spruce Pine. Jerry, who does vocals and plays keyboard and harmonica, began playing piano at eight. Jerry still lives and plays in the Charlotte area. Also a Charlotte resident, Mike started playing his brother’s guitar at 15, and he has a vacation home in Mitchell County. Jerry, Mike, and Bill (yes, that’s the name of the band) play a mix of pop, rock, and blues covers from the 50’s and 60’s, some earlier, some later, including Elvis, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles, Hank Williams, Fats Domino, and Carl Perkins, to name a few. They always tell their audiences, “We don’t claim to be good, but nobody has more fun.” Playing together since May 2017, they have had “more fun than folks our age should.” You can connect with the band via email to bwygand@gmail.com.

Thistle Dew
Thistle Dew
Based in east-Tennessee and western-North Carolina, Thistle Dew is a vocal collaboration dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the two forms of "roots" music which are nearest and dearest to our hearts -- Celtic and Appalachian. By blending the best of both we've created something new and unique: "Celtalachian" Music. The Dew Drops have often been told that our harmonies are magical, and all we have to say about that is "This'll Do!"
